Did you know that hunger exists? Unless you've been living under a rock I'm sure you know it. You've seen the TV commercials with sad faces of children that are no more then bones and skin. You've seen the mailings letting you know that for just $.60 a day you can feed, school and clothe a child.
Guess what - hunger happens everywhere. Right here in the United States of America. Right in YOUR neighborhood. Perhaps even in your own home in your own family. It happens!
Companies like ConAgra and their brands including Hebrew National are dedicated to ending child hunger. They are dedicated to raising awareness and bringing together communities in support of families in their own neighborhoods.
Join local Pittsburgh families as we eat free Hebrew National beef franks, ride the mechanical bull, assemble giant puzzles and complete projects to better our town. You kids can decorate reusable shopping bags that will be donated to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank for distribution of food to families in need. The picnic co-hosts and volunteers will be assembling care packages for the Children's Institute of Pittsburgh.
Also, as if this wasn't enough of amazing activities and community service, we will be taking time to clean up the park and collecting items for the Animal Rescue League's Wildlife Center. So come and spend the afternoon having fun, enjoying time with your family and meeting others right here in your own town!
