Did you know that September is Menopause Awareness Month? Truthfully, neither did I until the folks at Poise and Collective Bias brought it to my attention. The vision of Menopause Awarenss Month is that "women all over the world will one day be able to embrace menopause rather than suffer from its symptoms." That's definitely something I can get behind.

There are a number of symptoms of menopause. They range from hot flashes, fatigue, anxiety, decreased libido, vaginal dryness or odor and mood swings. Oh, the joys of hormones! Isn't it enough that we had to suffer through puberty, PMS and hormonal issues due to pregnancy? Thankfully, Poiise has some new and innovative products to help alleviate some of the most common symptoms of menopause.

Collective Bias recently put out a call for members who may be dealing with menopausal symptoms to take part in a shopping campaign with Poise and Walmart in order to learn about these new products. While I'm not officially of menopausal age, I did just turn 39. I believe I may be experiencing some symptoms of perimenopause that come with aging. Perimenopause is the time frame during the years before menopause, and the symptoms aren't usually seen until the 40's. Lucky me - I happen to be in the small percentage of women who can begin experiencing perimenopause in their 30's. It's no surprise to me, as hormones have alwaays hit me hard.

Can you guess what I'm thinking about my perimenopausal symptoms?

I've got the weight gain and fatigue gong on. But I'm also experiencing some of the more personal and, um, delicate symptoms as well. I was pleased to learn that Poise products that can help with those. I picked up the Poise Body Cooling Towelettes to help with my occasional hot flashes. It's totally not unusual for me to ask my family, "Is it hot in here?" Their response is always, "No! Don't touch the thermostat."

My best find, though, was the Poise Feminine Wash. We ladies all know that we can sometimes use a little extra freshness for our lady parts, but we don't want to use anything too harsh to cleanse. This product is just wonderful for helping to alleviate any insecurity or discomfort. I really like it.

I learned quite a bit on my shopping trip to buy the #PoiseFab5 products. One thing you may want to know is that not all Walmart stores carry the entire line of Poise Feminine Wellness products. It's a good idea to call ahead if you want to be sure. I had to visit a couple stores in my area to get the four products I most wanted to try. You may be interested in checking out my Google+ story to learn more about my shopping trip.
