I was very fortunate to be invited to "See PA in a Chevrolet" by the fabulous folks at General Motors and Fleishman Hillard. The initiative was to showcase a few of Chevy's newest cars, and it was such an amazing event. I joined Anne Fleming of Women-Drivers.com who was the hostess for the day and a group of wonderful Pittsburgh women bloggers for a fun-filled day of test driving cars, a magnificent lunch at Seven Springs Mountain Resort (where I recommended the creme brulee for desert, and those who had it agreed that I have great taste) and a tour of Fallingwater, the historical home of the Kaufman family that was designed by renowned architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, located in the beautiful Laurel Highlands of western Pennsylvania.
Wow, that last paragraph sounds like the sales copy for tourist ad, but I can't help it - the experiences of the day really were that amazing. And so was the company. In addition to Anne of Women-Drivers.com, the following fabulous bloggers and their guests were in attendance:
Kim Janocko of Crafty Mama of 4
Cara Rolinson of This Is Where I Come Up With Something Witty
Beth Caldwell of Pittsburgh Professional Women
Linda Thomas of WebBizGirl
Kirsten Womack of 2TechDivas
See why I had such a terrific day? These women are smart, savvy and powerful beyond measure. I soaked as much of their brilliance as I possibly could. In between networking and making friends, I got to experience some great Chevy cars. We test-drove and rode in the Equinox, Traverse, Malibu, and the oh-so-hot Camaro. Here are some pictures of the cars.

First is the Malibu. Beautiful sedan, and I'm told it has really good get up and go. I didn't drive any of the vehicles due to my own personal issues regarding driving in unfamiliar places (I'm working on that!), but I rode in it. I'd have to say that the Malibu was my least favorite because I thought the seats were quite uncomfortable, but it did ride very smoothly and quietly.
Next you see the Equinox. I enjoyed riding in this car. It was fun and would be a perfect car for someone with only one child or no children who goes on many travel adventures. It would be a great car for stowing your gear; check out that storage space in the back.
Next comes my favorite, the Traverse. We were told by Eric, who gave us the rundown of the vehicles, that this car has the longest wheel base and seat base in its class. It's roomy inside and has three rows that you can actually get to easily and that actually accommodate adults. I like that. It was wonderful to ride in, and I'd seriously think about buying this as an alternative to our minivan.
Finally, there's the Camaro. That orange color rocks. I rode in this car with Linda. It fit her personality well. Someday I aspire to drive a fun, sporty car like this. So cool. It was actually a pretty nice ride, though lower to the ground with less head room than I'm used to. But I enjoyed it!
Here are some pictures of Fallingwater. We weren't permitted to take indoor photographs, so this is all I could get with my iPhone. Isn't it beautiful how the architecture blends with nature? I love it there. Enjoy.

Thank you again, Anne, for hosting this event. And many thanks to Carolyn of GM and to Courtney and Whaewon of Fleishman Hillard. It was an amazing experience!
